As always, this year's card contest was incredibly difficult to judge because there were so many creative and beautiful cards to appreciate and consider!
After much discussion, we chose the card, "Zombie Post" by Sherry Morley for our Grand Prize. It was a difficult choice but Sherry really brought her "A" game this year. She uses stamps in her art in such a seamless way, you'd think we designed the stamps for her specific project. But in reality, she masks, and trims and makes our stamps fit her vision. It's an honor!

Artist: Nicole Fischer
Title: Silent Night
We really loved all of the textures and layers in Nicole Fischer's card, "Silent Night." She used a combination of glossy accents and a snow marker to make her candy canes shine and her popcorn "pop" with 3 dimensional texture. The mouse's entranceway is hand cut and the wood flooring is made from chip board and has a woodgrain texture. This card is phenomenally well done.

Artist: Roxanne Peterson
Title: Kodiak Moment, Watch out for The Birdie
Roxanne always brings Alaska into the conversation, as she has every right to do as a true Alaskan! In this lovely card, she is depicting a stand off between two formidable opponents who both love salmon. We can see majestic Denali in the background.
Stamps used: Upright Bear, Eagle, Salmon (part of Bear with Salmon), tuft of grass, Tiny Pine Tree, Mountain

Title: We Are Happy for You
Gina's card was beautifully colored and paired with complementary layering. I especially enjoyed her use of luminescent colors and shading to make the design come to life.
Stamps used: Dog, Cat, Bird with Blank Message
