Card Contest Winners 2019 - RubberHedgehog Rubber Stamps

Card Contest Winners 2019

Grand Prize Winner
Undecided Halloween Costume Rubber Stamp

Artist: Gina McCreary
Title: Undecided

Stamps used: Undecided Halloween Costume.

Gina McCreary’s card, “Undecided” blended the stars and moon from RubberHedgehog’s Trick or Treat Penguin stamp with the indecisive trick or treater from our Halloween stamp series to make a fun Halloween composition.  Our team of judges was especially impressed by how seamlessly she was able to marry die cut paper stock with rubber stamped images.  Furthermore, her layered paper crafting is clean, precise, and projects depth and scale, which resulted in a beautiful card that we all agreed, would be just the thing to send to our friends and families for Halloween.  Well done, Gina!

Bear Feet Only

Artist: Roxanne Marker
Title: Bear Feet Only

Stamps used: Bear tracks.

Our team of judges loved Roxanne Marker’s rustic card, “Bear Feet Only.”  Roxanne’s card is a true work of mixed media paper crafting.  She used RubberHedgehog’s Bear tracks rubber stamp, die cut paper assembled into a frame, and a lovely woodgrain embossing to create a feast of textures and dimensionality.  Congratulations, Roxanne!

Artist: Margaret Davies
Title: Farm School

Stamps used: Cat & Dog, Drama Llama, Llama, Valais Blacknose Sheep, Sheep.

It’s hard to know where to begin when feasting your eyes on Margaret Davies’ 3 dimensional card, “Farm School.”  There’s the hand stamped Llama leading the class using an easel Margaret created herself, as well as a very full classroom of hand stamped “students”.  The 3-D scene is all assembled shadow box style in four layers.  We loved her whimsical design and ambitious execution.  Well done, Margaret!

Spring has Sprung

Artist: Sherry Morley
Title: Spring has Sprung

Stamps used: Dog, Rabbit, FrogSquirrel, Trampoline.

Sherry Morley’s design was a very early favorite of our team of judges and it’s not hard to see why – her dimensional card featuring trampoline launched creatures was adorable and very fitting for the season (Spring).  We loved her palette of soft spring colors, her use of sliders to bring each small critter into the action, as well as the beautiful use of die cuts and punches to create the lace like top and the pedestal like bottom of her screen.  The result was clean, creative, and very polished in it’s execution.  Congratulations, Sherry!
