Rules for our 2013 greeting card art contest

(Contest ended on 07/31/2013 - Thank you to everyone who entered!)

Entries must be post marked by July 31st in order to be considered for this round

Welcome to our 2013 greeting card art contest!

We started our business because we wanted to spend our days interacting with other human beings who shared our love and commitment to animals and to animal welfare. In this respect our business has quickly become a huge success. Not a day goes by that we don't find ourselves listening in awe to a customer who has helped to rescue or rehabilitate or otherwise help an animal in need. Many of our customers head up households filled with pets rescued from inhumane conditions or from shelters that are too often overcrowded and underfunded. It is to their credit that these people who willingly take on so much heartbreak are able to find the joy in their experiences and express them to us over and over again. In these expressions of joy in helping others more vulnerable, we have found ourselves renewed in spirit and faith in humanity and we are very grateful.

We regularly receive phone calls from animal loving rubber stampers from all across the country and emails from all over the planet. We also receive greeting cards from them, many of these cards are created with our own rubber stamps. These lovely creations cover most all of the walls in our office and workshop now and have been the source of much wonder and conversation about the creative genius of our friends and customers. We have enjoyed your art so much that we'd like to share it with the world. So, please send us your art!

Entering your hand stamped greeting cards:

To enter, you must send us your hand-stamped original art work in greeting card format (postcards, multi-folds, circular or other shaped cards, etc. are all considered greeting cards). Supplies: Rubberhedgehog Stamps, watercolored paint, Distress Ink, Mulberry paper, Archival Brilliance Inks, and Memory Box Dies

Instructions: Four different Rubberhedgehog stamps were used (barn, windmill, small grinning cow, and haystack - Find Farm rubber stamps here.). The background was painted using watercolored paints. Distress Ink and craft nibs were used to pain the barn. The windmill is heat embossed in silver with popped blades. The three dimensional wire fence is made with bundled mulberry paper and real wire layered over mulberry paper green field. The cows and haystacks are stamped with Archival Brilliance Inks, cut out and raised with foam. The clouds were layered (and popped with foam) and colored using memory box dies. The entire scene is backed with more raised foam for a very dimensional effect.
